Recently, the Albert Lea HR Group had the opportunity to attend a one-day workshop hosted by SE MN Together, to identify some of the regional challenges faced in filling the worker shortage gaps within our businesses. If we identify a challenge, we need to look at solutions.
Please join the Albert Lea HR Group in a series of three "lunch and learn" workshops and learn more about the untapped potential of our employable population.
Join us Thursday, May 19th for our next topic, "Focus on Older Workers: Tapping their Experience" with Presenter, LaRhae Knatterud, Director of Aging Transformation, MN Department of Human Services.
LaRhae Knatterud has a BA from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and an MAPA from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, with major concentrations in gerontology and health care policy. She began her career at the Area Agency on Aging for the Twin Cities, and worked there as the planner and policy coordinator as well as holding the position of director for six years. She is currently Director of Aging Transformation for the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Attendees will:
Explore the term “older worker” and stereotypes surrounding it
Share the benefits of hiring an “older worker” and what they can bring to your company
Dispel some of the myths that hiring an “older worker” might bring
